An unissued Pound form for the Sydney Branch of The Royal Bank of Australia better known as Ben Boy'd Bank. The bank was founded in London in 1840 before establishing a branch in Sydney in 1842, followed by Adelaide, Hobart Town, Launceston, Melbourne and Twofold Bay. The bank followed the meteoric rise of its founder Benjamin Boyd who had vast vast whaling and pastoral interests in the colony. Boyd's business interests declined and he lost control of the bank in 1848 before in was closed in 1849.

This note on watermarked paper is about Very Fine for issue excepting for numerous pin holes and a number of paper splits. The gripper on the left hand side of the note is intact and overall it is believed to be one of the better examples known.
